Acid Rescue Calcium Carbonate Berry Flavor is a dietary supplement that relieves occasional heartburn and indigestion.
The main component of the supplement is calcium carbonate, which acts as an antacid. Antacids have the ability to quickly reduce the acidity of gastric juice by neutralizing hydrochloric acid and converting it into water and safer compounds. They are used for the symptomatic treatment of heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion and stomach discomfort. They act mainly locally, enveloping the mucous membrane and forming a protective barrier.
The antacid properties of calcium carbonate can relieve unpleasant symptoms of digestive disorders, such as acid dyspepsia and heartburn.
Calcium carbonate is also recommended as a source of calcium for people with low or insufficient calcium levels, a chronic deficiency of which can cause conditions such as osteoporosis and hypothyroidism.
